OSHKOSH, Wis. — A Wisconsin man pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to a charge related to the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Bradley D. Hounsell, 44, of Oshkosh, pleaded guilty to one count of coercing and enticing a minor to engage in unlawful sexual conduct, the Department of Justice said in a news release.
According to the plea agreement, Hounsell used a social media platform to communicate with an individual in the Philippines and requested sexually explicit material involving children. In November 2023, the individual told Hounsell they had access to a 13-year-old child. Prosecutors said Hounsell then asked for a video depicting sexual abuse of the child and sent payment through an online payment platform in exchange for the material.
Federal authorities said a subsequent review of Hounsell’s online communications showed repeated requests for sexualized images of minors. The conduct described in the plea agreement was admitted as part of the guilty plea.
The case was announced by Assistant Attorney General A. Tysen Duva of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and Brad D. Schimel.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office. Prosecutors include attorneys from the Justice Department’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
